Im not worried about getting the truck back to WNY afterwards, worst case I can drive it.  If someone wants to take the truck out and return to buffalo that night, I will have room in my car.

Jim and I will be meeting at SeAD at around 4pm next Saturday for course setup, and could use a few more hands.  Please post up and let us know if you are willing.  If someone wants to ride down in the timing truck with Jim, I'll have room for 1 more person coming back to buffalo (we're not staying over, I'll be out that way anyway and coming back to Buff).

Yeah, bring 'er out to everywhere but BIMP.  For Sead, if you can make it, great, if not just try and let us know so we can round up some children of the corn

Our season opener is just over a week away!  Please don't forget to pre-register.  While it is not required, it is extremely helpful when planning a course and an event to have a somewhat accurate estimate of attendance!

Meeting Minutes / April 09 Monthly Meeting Minutes

WNY SCCA Meeting Minutes

The April 7, 2009, Western New York Region SCCA meeting was called to order by RE Dale Kunze at 8:38 pm.

Minutes would have been approved, had they been available (the Website is not quite there yet)

Treasurer Roy Bergman presented the financial report.

Race Report – Larry Osolkowski reported on the group outing to the 12 hour at Sebring.  The racing was good, the weather was great, and there was a large contingent of Vintage Cars.   Bill Frieder got educated on the Aerodynamic Design Details of the Cobra Daytona Coupe by none other than Peter Brock himself!

Ice Racing – According to Jon Wolff – 437 days.  An argument ensued!  “We need Joe!”

Solo Report – the Schedule is up on the Website, with the first event on May 3rd at ECC North

Rally – Jim Perrin reported that Ken Block won the Rally NY event, and that STPR is on June 5th-6th, where he plans on running his first Pro Rally.  The next Rallycross will not be until September.

Newsletter – coming soon.  We still need an editor…badly!

Membership Report:  Dave Dill was not available, as his presence was required at Dog-Training Class

Licensing Report – none

Merchandise Report – contact Bill Frieder if you need anything.

NEDiv – Phil Henderson reported that the NEDiv Roundtable was held last month.

Old Business – none

New Business – none

Announcements – the Website is slowly coming back to life, but it is not pretty right now.  If you have any comments or suggestions, contact Jon at autocrosser@gmail.com

Motion to adjourn made by Phil Henderson, seconded by Larry Osolkowski.

Meeting adjourned at 8:48 pm.

Respectfully submitted, David Frieder, Secretary

Solo (Autocross) / Re: SMF class???
« on: April 02, 2009, 07:31:49 am »
We will have a road tire PAX class this year, not one reserved for SM.  Any class car is welcome to run in it with the exception of ST* classes.  Those cars would have to take the next higher class they are eligible for, which would be the correct SP class.  So a wrx would take an ESP pax, an sti would take BSP...etc so, there is really no point in an ST car running in street tire.   (the reason for this is because the other car's pax is based on race rubber competition, where st car pax is already based on road tires, they would have a distinct advantage in the road tire class)

Jose,  how the hell are you going to put that power to the ground?  Cutting out the fenders and going with the 315's in the front?  Did you get a new diff yet?

The site is guarded at night, however its not in the best part of town.  Its OK to leave things there, but I'd lock them up with cable locks or something, don't just leave things laying around.

General Discussion / New site in the works
« on: February 23, 2009, 05:40:07 pm »
While we're working on yet another new site, please use this forum!

Because way back in the day, our site was compromised from time to time, we're pretty much peppered with every exploit you could ever imagine.  SO...... we are taking a new approach.

This forum will stay, and because its a common format, should we ever upgrade/change in the future, the user accounts are salvageable!

Also, this will make it easier to integrate with soloreg directly, so hopefully some time soon, we'll all have only 1 set of login info.

News!!! / Neohio Region - Our Competition Clinic March 28
« on: February 23, 2009, 05:24:42 pm »
You are being contacted because you are listed as a contact person

for an SCCA region.

The 2009 Neohio Region Comp Clinic includes a new feature and a great new location.

The seminar will be held at the state-of-the-art Cuyahoga Valley

Career Center (CVCC - a high school vocational center).

This is an incredible new venue for us!

The new feature is a 2 hour safe driving seminar directed at the CVCC students.

This presentation will include rides in the Mid-Oho School Skid Car.

What a way to learn car control!

The Comp Clinic will also feature the familiar seminars for experienced racers

and beginners (tires, brakes, getting started, data acquisition and more-plus a

special program for Solo Officials).

Please post the attached pdf on your region’s websites to get the word out.

We also have Exhibitor spaces available in the main hall and Sponsorship

opportunities for those companies/organizations that would like to get

involved in this exciting event.

The sponsorship brochure is also attached.

 We appreciate your help!
