No, that can't possibly be it...

I've always just assumed that no one looks at the site.  I guess all the effort redesigning it wasn't necessary?

Ok, looks the the problem was with the Event Registration system, and not the website login. I've fixed it, so it should be working now.

I just tried it with my account and it worked.  Can you try it again, and take a screen shot of the error - and email it to me at  Also include OS and browser versions please.

The "forgot password" link, or in the settings of your profile?

General Discussion / Database Purge of Users

The site was getting hammered with spam registrations, so I had to change a few things on the back end, and then I purged a bunch of accounts. So, any account that hasn't been logged into for over a year, had a non .com/.net/.edu/.org email address, or had a website in the signature was deleted.  I apologize if your account fell into this criteria by accident, but I ended up deleted about 4000 accounts, and didn't have the patience to look at each one individually.

So, if you try to log in and it's not working, you should probably just register for a new account.

Solo (Autocross) / Looking for Timing Volunteers
« on: March 15, 2012, 02:04:39 pm »
Is anyone interested in working in the timing truck as a regular work assignment this season?

Candidates must be:
- computer literate
- able to work in stressful environments
- handle a bunch of different tasks simultaneously
- not easily offended
- not Andy

If you'd like to volunteer, just let me know.

Dave, to specifically address your question about the bump class:

I've decided to do away with the idea of the bump class in the hopes that this restructuring will no have any single car classes.  In the event that there is a single car class still, bumping will be according to the rule book.

Sorry about that - I copied it from the PDF that is listed under the "Rules and Supps" section on the site, which includes some strike throughs for the rule changes from last season.  When I pasted it, it lost the formatting.  I have fixed it in the first post.

Solo (Autocross) / New Classing Structure for 2012
« on: March 14, 2012, 09:32:12 am »
In the 2012 Supps, I outlined the new classing structure for this season.  Here is the section from the supps:

Car classification is the responsibility of the competitor. Assistance is available at Technical Inspection or at the registration table, but not in the timing van.
Current SCCA National classing will be used, but grouped into index classes, based on current PAX values:

The following classes will only allow a tire with 140 treadwear rating or higher:
Street Prepared (SSP, ASP, BSP, CSP, DSP, ESP, FSP)
Street Touring (STF, STC, STS, STR, STX, STU)

The following classes will allow the use of any tire allowed by class rules:
Prepared/Modified (XP, BP, CP, DP, EP, FP, GP, AM, BM, CM, DM, EM, FM, KM, FSAE)
Street Modified (SM, SMF, SSM)
Karts (JA, JB, JC)
Classes will be run per SCCA National Solo Rules except:

Pro Class:
The Pro Class will be an indexed class.  It is intended to be a class for top level competition.  There will be no requirements for entry, and no compulsory inclusion, however, a car in the Stock or Street Prepared class on R-compound tires will be required to run in Pro, or its appropriate Prepared/Modified class.

Ladies Class:
There will be no ladies class.

Novice Class:
The Novice class will be for those competitors that are starting out. We don’t anticipate instituting hard and fast rules about what constitutes a “novice,” but we will reserve the right to “graduate” a competitor that regularly wins in Novice for an extended period of time. R-compound tires are not allowed.

Bumped Class:
All single car classes will be bumped to “bump class”, which will run as an indexed class. Drivers will continue to accumulate points for their respective classes. If there is only one single car class, it will be bumped according to the rulebook.

Jr. Driver Classes:
Formula Jr. classes will be indexed as “Karts”.  [See rule book for full details.]  Any adults driving a Jr. Kart MUST run in KM.

So basically, what this means is that if you are on R Compound tires, you'll be running in SM, P, M, or Pro, even if you are driving a Stock classed car.  There is no more "Road Tire" class. All eligible cars on street tires will run in an indexed class based on their prep level.

The reason for this: RT accounted for a large portion of attendance.  However, the PAX used for RT wasn't fair by any stretch.  An HS car had a distinct advantage over an SM car when on street tires.  So, in accordance with the new National rules for Stock Street Tire classes, I decided to make bump classes based on prep levels.  This *should* somewhat even out the competition, and allow for some better match ups.  This is by no means intended to be the perfect solution, and there is bound to be someone out there that will not like it.  I took the results from last season and redistributed them according to this classing structure.  The end result looked right to me, so I think it should be fair.

So, if you have some feedback, or you have any questions, please let me know.  I'm interested to hear it.

We are still working on trying to schedule a Novice School.

Even so, there will be instructors available at each event to help you out with anything you need, so don't be afraid to ask any questions.

Registration is now open for the 2012 season.  3 events are TBD, and not yet in the system.

Also - all previous account information has been dumped.  EVERYONE need to register for a new account.

Solo (Autocross) / 2012 Schedule

I've updated the 2012 schedule with our current tentative plans.  There are still a few TBD dates that we are still trying to finalize, but we wanted to make sure we gave everyone enough of a heads up before the first event.

Solo (Autocross) / 2012 NEDIV Solo Championships
« on: February 28, 2012, 10:55:27 am »
We are very pleased to announce that we are going to have the 2012 Northeast Divisional Solo Championship at the MetLife (the Meadowlands) Stadium in NJ.  The event will take place May 11-13, 2012 and will be hosted by NNJR SCCA.  All the details have not been worked out but we will have a Phase 1 Evolution Performance Driving School and an Evo Advantage school along with a good sized practice course on Friday.  Saturday and Sunday will be two different courses for competition to determine the Divisional Solo Champions for 2012. Registration will open in mid March and close in early May.

We will run all the SCCA National classes including FJA, FJB and the new road tire index classes RTF, RTA and RTR.

Please check often as more information becomes available.

Go to to register for the schools.
