News!!! / Message from SCCA President
« on: February 28, 2011, 12:01:41 pm »
Dear fellow SCCA members,

I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying one of SCCA’s many forms of motorsports activities. Very soon you will be receiving a personalized email from InsideLine@scca.com letting you know of SCCA events in your area. In years past a member would receive flyers or entry forms in the mail notifying them of an upcoming event. With the proliferation of electronic media, most event information is now posted on a website. If you don’t proactively look for it, an event may come and go without your knowledge. By taking this approach we are helping to get the word out about upcoming events in your local and nearby regions. It is our hope that this approach will benefit the local regions by increasing participation and informing members of nearby events that they may not otherwise know about. Please be sure that your profile contains your current zip code so that you will receive information about events specific to your area. You can update your profile information: http://http://www.mmsend21.com/link.cfm?r=229995077&sid=12448063&m=1245751&u=SCCA&s=http://ams.scca.com/netforum/eweb/DynamicPage.aspx?WebCode=LoginRequired&expires=yes&Site=scca.

SCCA has weathered the recent economic challenges well and we are poised to make significant investments in our programs and infrastructure in 2011. In fact, we will be investing more than $170,000 in equipment and software this year to improve our operations and expand our motorsports activities. We understand that people have a choice of where they want to spend their motorsports activity dollars. We all need to make sure that our actions and attitudes encourage our existing members, and potential new members, to select SCCA events when they are choosing where to have their fun. After all, if we’re not having fun, why would we do it?

Thank you for supporting SCCA and its programs. I hope to see you at an event soon!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING ON-LINE REGISTRATION 2011 RACING SEASON

After more than 10 years, the NESCCA on-line registration system has been discontinued.  It served us well, but it needed substantial upgrade in order to continue.

National SCCA has selected MotorsportReg as their vendor for the major championship events that they operate, which includes the RunOffs next Fall.  In addition, the SCCA Board of Directors is asking for some specific data to use in decision making that will be built into that system.

After presentations by two vendors at the recent NEDiv MiniCon, each region independently selected the vendor that they will use during the upcoming year.  At this time, New England, Glen, New York, Mahoning Valley, Flinger Lakes, Steel Cities, Mohawk Hudson, and Northern New Jersey will be using MotorsportReg:  Washington DC and South Jersey will use DLBracing.  Tri-Region has not yet determined their vendor.

Any driver who wishes to enter an event sponsored by a region using the MotorsportReg vendor will need to go on line to MotorsportReg.com and create a new profile.  It is very straight forward process, but if you need help, do not hesitate to contact the vendor directly.  Drivers who enter WDC and SJR events, will need to create a profile on DLBracing if they have not already done so.  Again, this is a very straight forward process.  Links to both vendors by race events will be available via the NESSCA website.

Those drivers who have continued to rely on paper entries may be required to have an on-line profile established. Your local Registrar will able to assist you with this process if you have any problems.

Prior to the first races, more information will be available on NESCCA website and through your Region.  Please do not hesitate to contact Terry Roberts, NEDiv Division Administrator for Registration or any of the Regional Chiefs of Registration with questions or concerns.
