Here's the first known newsletter for the WNY region.
It is listed as Vol 2 so they may have known of an earlier attempt or they were just being careful in case there was.
WNY covered a lot of territory as Glen, FLR and Misery Bay all spun off as the club grew.
When Bill Milliken drove to an early SCCA meeting in Connecticut, in the winter, in an MG TB, they were amazed and gave him everything West of Albany. I'm not sure there were any restrictions in N, S or W!
The Cover may have been printed beforehand and then Page One printed on the reverse side. The other pages are individual sheets with nothing on the back. Uploading has not gone well and it may take a few tries.

The December 2017 meeting of the WNY Region SCCA was called to order by David at 7:32 pm on December 4, 2017 at the Olympic Restaurant on Genessee St.

Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes from the November meeting was submitted by Carrie and seconded by Karen.  The motion was passed by acclamation.

Treasurer: The treasurer was not present; therefore no report was submitted.

Membership: Current region membership is 279 members.

Club Racing: The NY Road Racing Championship awards ceremony will be held this week.  As he will not be in attendance, Jerry was presented with his 1st place plaque this evening.

Ice Racing: In 45 days.

Solo: Two dates have been booked for WNY events at Seneca Army Depot: May 20th and August 19th.  As the site has been booked for the entire weekend surrounding both dates, the possibilities for a Novice School, Test and Tune, or two day event are being discussed.

NEDIV: A division mini-con was held three weeks ago in Maryland, at which the new SCCA President spoke.

Announcements: None submitted.

New business: Planning continues for the annual awards banquet, now at Big Ditch Brewing Company.  The banquet is tentatively scheduled for January 20th.  Stay tuned to this site and the WNY Region Facebook page for additional information.

Old business: Nothing submitted.

The November 2017 meeting of the WNY Region SCCA was called to order by Carrie at 7:29 pm on November 6, 2017 at the Olympic Restaurant on Genessee St.

Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes from the October meeting was submitted by Karen and seconded by Tyrone.  The motion was passed by acclamation.

Treasurer: The treasurer submitted his monthly report.

Membership: Current region membership is 274 members.

Club Racing: 4 region members attended the SCCA Runoffs, with 2 placing midpack in their respective classes. 
A Formula Vee race was recently held by FLR.  2 members will be going to South Africa to race in the near future, with additional members racing next year at Interlagos.  WNY members are encouraged to check out Formula Vee, which has low car costs.

Ice Racing: In 72 days.

Solo: The 2018 schedule is currently being worked on.  It will include 2 events at Seneca Army Depot, which will also be the site of a National Tour event and an Evo school hosted by FLR.
The National Championships were attended by a number of region members, including Jim, Dale, and Michelle.  Michelle won her class.

NEDIV: A mini-con is being held this weekend (November 10th-11th) in Ellicott City, Maryland.  More information can be found here: http://www.nediv.com/

Announcements: None submitted.

New business: The annual awards banquet is in the planning stages and will be held at the end of January.  Talks are ongoing with the Pierce Arrow Museum as a potential site, with Big Ditch Brewing Company as an alternate if Pierce Arrow's costs are prohibitively expensive.

The October 2017 meeting of the WNY Region SCCA was called to order by David at 7:34 pm on October 2, 2017 at the Olympic Restaurant on Genessee St.

Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes from the August meeting was submitted by Carrie and seconded by Richard.  The motion was passed by acclamation.

Treasurer: No report was submitted as the treasurer was not present.

Membership: Current region membership is 282 members.

Club Racing: 4 region members attended the SCCA Runoffs, with 2 placing midpack in their respective classes.

Ice Racing: In 72 days.

Solo: The last event of the season - henceforth renamed the "Dale Kunze Meomorial Champagne Run" - was held on September 17th.  108 drivers attended, with each competitor afforded 6 competition runs.
Plans are in the works to return Seneca Army Depot to the event calendar next year.  WNY Region is tentatively planning to host 2 events at the site, with additional OOR events planned by Finger Lakes and other regions.

Announcements: Longtime members Virginia Close and Bill Bradshaw passed away recently.  A memorial plaque at the Watkins Glen museum will be purchased in Virginia's name, if her name cannot be added to her late husband's plaque.

The August 2017 meeting of the WNY Region SCCA was called to order by David at 7:54 pm on August 1, 2017 at the Olympic Restaurant on Genessee St.

Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes from the June meeting was submitted by Heather and seconded by Tyrone.  The motion was passed by acclamation.

Treasurer: The treasurer submitted the monthly account balance.

Membership: Current region membership is 293 members.

Club Racing: A USAC race was held in Pitt despite a lack of corner workers.  One WNY Region member was among the finishers.
A club racing event will be held this coming weekend (8/12-8/13) at PittRace. 
The region will be involved with an exchange program with drivers from Brazil, South Africa, and Germany.  Holland will be an available destination next year.  Drivers going to Brazil will be able to race at Interlagos.  More information can be found here: https://challengecupseries.com/.  Jeremy attended a  track day at Nelson Ledges and reported on the status of the repaving effort.

Ice Racing: In 145 days.

Solo: An event was held on July 17th.  Over 100 drivers were in attendance.  The next local event is on August 27th and will feature a newly reconfigured lot at New Era Field. 
Several local members attended a Tour event at Toledo.  Todd won his class.
Several members also attended a ProSolo event in Michigan.  Jim won his class, with Todd taking a 2nd place trophy and Heather a 4th.

NEDIV: Nothing submittted.

Announcements: Longtime member Dale announced this was his last meeting before moving to Ohio.  We wish him well and hope that he will visit us often.
Finger Lakes Region will host a Solo event at Marketplace Mall on 8/20.
The SCCA Runoffs have over 1000 entrants, while Solo Nationals has reached its cap for registration.
No September meeting will be held due to the Labor Day holiday.
