News!!! / Re: Membership Forms
« Last post by kgj87 on September 07, 2015, 10:11:20 pm »
Hi there,

I'm new to the group and the sport and would like some more info on how to register to become a member. The links no longer seem to get me to where I need to be to register and are there different levels of registration?

Thanks!

Club Racing / PiitRace Majors results
« Last post by mx5er on August 17, 2015, 03:45:57 pm »
WNY Region was represented by only 3 drivers:
Mathias Bonner (SRF) finished 13/20 and 6th in class (of 8) and 15/20 and 8th in class (of 8).

Joe Camilleri drove his HP Scirocco to a 4th pace finish on Saturday and an 6th on Sunday competing against 9 others in class.
Joe Bonner (F500) had mechanical issues on Saturday but finished enough laps to be considered a finisher. On Sunday, he finished 2 overall. He ran unopposed both days but got to have a victory lap on Sunday.

I represented WNY Region as the only course worker, working as a Starter both days.
There is a Track Night in America event at PittRace on September 2nd and aRegional on September 19 & 20.

Hey,

Did anyone happen to leave this phone clip thing I've attached as an image to this post here in my glovebox on either Saturday or Sunday? Just checking. You're welcome to have it back if so because I can guarantee it isn't mine.

General Discussion / Re: Kart Requirments
« Last post by KStrycharz on July 26, 2015, 04:08:49 pm »
Let me preface this with the fact that I don't know much about the specifics of kids karts.

That being said, the rules state a few explicit things:
JC and JB Karts can run in JA.
Clone engine is allowed in JB.
If you are 14, then you run in JA.

So, now the only real question in the chassis.  I have no idea about the Coyote, but the rules do say this:

Quote from: 19.2.A.3.c
Chassis: “BabyKart,” “Kid Kart,” and “Cadet Kart” size racing-style chassis only. Intermediate- and full-sized racing chassis are inappropriate for this class regardless of any adaptation or modifications.

So, does that chassis fit the size requirement?  If so, then you should be good to go.  If not, the other alternative would be to run it in KM, but the rules also state the minimum age for KM is 15.

With normal cars, we are very lenient with the rules, since locally, our goal is for everyone to have fun.  So if your car didn't quite fit the rules for the class, but it wasn't a real performance gain, we'd let it slide.  However, there is no leeway with Junior Karts, since it's a real safety/liability thing with our insurance.

So even with running a clone I can participate in JA?
