Concord kart track autocrossing?
« on: February 17, 2015, 12:45:07 pm »
I've got photos of running my '72 Datsun 510 at a small kart track in someone's back yard (Concord?) . This was back in the days of the Western New York Autocross Trail. Used to run Lancaster as well. Any of you "older" people remember it? Wonder if it's still there?

Concord was closed down around 1973. A housing development was built on the site a few years later. Hope this helps

Still, how cool was that to have a track in your back yard!

It would be if the track was still there.

The track was torn up years ago.

Wow that literally is in someone's back yard! Looks like the picture is fairly current, it still appears on Google maps. The pic can't be more than 3-4 years old... It might be something to look into.

The track Dave D is referring to, and the one in the picture are two different tracks.

I know the one in the picture is still there cause I know a certain FR-S that did some steady state turn shock testing there last year.

Not so sure it's really big enough for a full event though.

Yeah I kinda figured there were two tracks in this conversation. But the one that is still open maybe we could do some limited participant, no points events?

That track is still there but is very small. I've tested there but could only use 1st gear, and is very rough

Yuk, don't mind hitting the Rev. Limiter but not in 1st gear!

Pete is thinking about making the back straight longer
