Posted by The November 2023 meeting of the WNY Region SCCA was called to order by Joe at 8:33 pm on November 6, 2023. The meeting was held virtually via Zoom.
Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes from the October meeting was submitted by Carrie and seconded by Jim. The motion was passed by acclamation.
Treasurer: The treasurer was absent.
Membership: 242 members.
Club Racing: None.
Ice Racing: In 10 days. Or any second now.
Solo: Despite rain, 82 drivers attended the Champagne Run, our final event of the season, on October 29th. Pizza and lasagna – excellent lasagna – were eaten and champagne was sprayed.
NEDIV: n/a
New Business: We have secured the Tewksbury Lodge for our annual banquet, which will be held on January 20th. Pricing, menu, and registration details are being worked out – stay tuned.
We are working on end of season trophies to be presented at the banquet. Any ideas – traditional trophies, shirts, helmet bags, etc. – are welcome!
The timing truck will likely need suspension work next year. Depending on how much travel will be required of it next year, we are exploring the option of replacing the truck.
We are still investigating alternate sites for next year, as well as the possibility of doing events at short notice at the stadium or having an all out-of-region season.
